Thomas Jones was born on 3 September 1843 at Hoylake, Cheshire.3 He was the son of Samuel Jones and Elizabeth Steens.2

Thomas Jones married Effie Nicholson, daughter of Alexander Nicholson and Martha Davies, circa September 1867 at Wirral Registration District, Cheshire.4

He was recorded as head of household in the 1871 census with Effie Nicholson as his spouse at Grove Road, Hoylake, Cheshire. He was 27 years old. Also living in the house were their two children. Thomas was absent from the house on census night.5

He was recorded as head of household in the 1881 census with Effie Nicholson as his spouse. He was 37 years old. Also living in the house were their six chldren and his mother-in-law.6 His occupation was recorded as being a fisherman in the census.6

He was recorded as head of household in the 1891 census with Effie Nicholson as his spouse at Marmion Road, Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire. He was 47 years old. The Jones household was next door to Effie's brother Thomas' house. His age was recorded as 47 years old. Also living in the house were five of his children, his 81 year-old mother-in-law and his nephew Thomas Dean.7

He was recorded as head of household in the 1901 census with Effie Nicholson as his spouse at 15 Marmion Road, Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire. He was 57 years old. His age was recorded as being 57 yars old. Also living in the house were 5 of their children and his mother-in-law.8

He was recorded as head of household in the 1911 census with Effie Nicholson as his spouse at Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire. He was 67 years old. He was recorded as being 67 years old. Also living in the house were three of their adult children.9 His occupation was recorded as being a retired fisherman in the census.9

Thomas died on 2 October 1921 at Hoylake, Cheshire, at age 78.3
