Francis Luxton Oaten was Francis Luxton was employed as a coal miner in Nixon's Navigation Colliery, the oldest pit in the area sunk in 1860.1 He was born in 1863 at Bristol.1 He was the son of John Oaten and Mary Ann Luxton.1 Francis Luxton Oaten was a coal hewer.1
Francis Luxton Oaten married Emma Sarah Lavinia Holbrook on Monday, 7 August 1893 at Pontypridd, Glamorgan.1
Francis died on 17 August 1914 at Mountain Ash, Glamorgan, killed by a sudden roof fall at the coal face..1
