John was born circa 1807 at Edinburgh.2

He married Isabella Mason, circa 1833.3 John Malcolm was a labourer in April 1841.3

They was recorded as head of household in the 1841 census at High Street, Inverkeithing, Fifeshire. He was a quarry labourer in March 1851.2 He was an iron founder's labourer.4

He was recorded as head of household in the 1851 census with Isabella Mason as his spouse at Gowkhall, Inverkeithing, Fifeshire. They were living with 5 of their 6 children.2

John died before October 1862.1
