Charles Lamont was also known as Charles Lemont.2 He was born circa 1822 at Aberdeen.2

He married Christian Gibb, daughter of James Gibb and Christian Angus, at the Free Union Church on Wednesday, 22 November 1848 at Old Machar, Aberdeen..3,4

He was recorded as head of household in the 1851 census with Christian Gibb as his spouse at Church Terrace, Tranmere, Cheshire. He was recorded as being 28 years old. Also living in the house was their son, his niece, his brother and a visitor.2 Charles Lamont was a bookkeeper to Dock Trustees in April 1851.2

He was recorded as head of household in the 1861 census with Christian Gibb as his spouse at St. Helen's Road, Sutton, Lancashire. His age was recorded as 39 years old. Also in the house were two of their children and a lodger.1 His occupation was recorded as being a commercial clerk in the census.1

He was recorded as head of household in the 1871 census with Christian Gibb as his spouse at 4a Church Terrace, Tranmere, Cheshire. His age was recorded as 48; also living in the house were 5 of his children.5 Charles Lamont was a commercial merchant on 3 April 1871.5

He was recorded as head of household in the 1881 census with Christian Gibb as his spouse at 106 Huskisson Street, Liverpool. His age was recorded as 58 years old. Also living in the house were three of their children and a servant.6 Charles Lamont was a general commercial merchant.6

Charles died before April 1891 at Mussgh, Midlothian, Scotland.7
