Mary Violet Deane was born on 22 April 1893 at the Adelaide suburb of Parkside.1 She was the daughter of Charles Williams and Elizabeth Deane.1 Mary Violet Deane was adopted but the circumstances of this are unknown; perhaps this happened after the death of her father at about the age of 2.2
Mary Violet Deane married Charles Nicholas von Rheinick Francis at Goodwood Methodist Church on Wednesday, 12 December 1917 at the Adelaide suburb of Goodwood, South Australia. They were 24 and 25 respectively.3,1
Mary died on 26 October 1973 at Sydney at age 80.1
