James Skerman was born circa 1825.1 He was the son of William Skerman and Charlotte Carr.1 At this time his occupation was given as a maker of church and turret clocks.2
He was recorded as living with Elizabeth and John in the 1841 census at Parliament Row, Hertford.3
James Skerman married Caroline Ruth Baker on Saturday, 31 July 1852 at Westminster, London.4
