Eliza Playl was born on 27 February 1834 at Chipping Ongar, Essex.1,2 She was the daughter of Jerimiah Playl and Eliza Darby.1 Eliza Playl was baptised at Independent Chapel on Monday, 15 June 1835 at Chipping Ongar, Essex.3

She was recorded as living with her parents and sibllings William and Harriet in the 1851 census at High Street, Chipping Ongar, Essex.4 Eliza Playl was a shopkeeper (confectioner) in March 1861.5

She was recorded as living with her parents and sister Amelia in the 1861 census at Chipping Ongar, Essex.5

She married Henry Herbert Trigg, son of William Trigg and Elizabeth Mills, in a nonconformist ceremony at Independent Chapel on Wednesday, 28 October 1863 at Chipping Ongar, Essex. She was 29 and her husband Henry was 23.. Henry and Eliza went on to have four children together.6,7

Eliza died on 21 May 1869 at New London Road, Chelmsford, Essex, at age 35 of a puerpal mania due to unhygenic midwifery practices associated with the birth of her son Herbert, born 2 weeks earlier..3 She was buried on 27 May 1869 at London Road Non-Conformist Church, Chelmsford, Essex.3
